BINUS Jazz 2013!

Last Saturday, we finally held the BINUS Jazz 2013 event. And I must say I am a happy and a proud Project Manager. I felt like my hard work finally paid off. The event was a big success (well that's how I see it and according to what some people say :p) There were around 400 people coming to the event and the vibe was real good!

However, I know that this all won't be a success without the help of these people:

1. God - of course God would be the first one I thank, for bringing me this far, for not letting breakdown and always giving me strength when I'm about to loose it

2. Daddy - although you're no longer there to see me prepare and held this event, I know that you're looking at me from heaven. And I know that you're happy that I have made this achievement

3. Mommy - for always reminding me of my health, I needed that

4. Sissy - For always being there when I needed a getaway

5. My fellow Executive Committee and Coordinators, Echa, Della, Fallen, Eka, Feby, Hilda, Ka Vanda, Wina, Rhesa - You guys are definitely the best support I can ever have
BINUS Jazz 2013 Committee
6. My advisors - You guys definitely helped me made decisions and guided me through out the preparation

7. The whole committee - Although some of you guys gave me headaches but you guys were awesome
And all the others whom I can't mention one by one here. Thank you all so much!

    Hi, February!

It's been awhile since I last blogged (about my personal life). The last time was when my parents came to Jakarta, and I pretty much just posted pictures of the shoe they bought me. Well after that I was busy with assignments and the American Culture Week, and of course preparing my trip back home (⌒▽⌒)☆  Since a lot has happened, now I'm gonna try to share each and every one of it.

    1. Language Department HOT - For December, we went to Cafe Strawberry in the midst of our busy-ness. It was a very happy moment, knowing I have such great staff and goofy they all are even though most of them are girls! Cute eh?

    2. Binus  Entrepreneurship Week - In my third semester, I have this subject called ENTREPRENEURSHIP. Our class was divided into groups and we were asked to start a business, an innovative. My teammates, Ghea, Ninda, Dea, Edu, and I decided to produce an agenda that is created specially for BINUSians.

    3. Andrich & Arie's Wedding - This was a wedding that my mom had taken care of decoration of, both the Holy Matrimony and the reception. And I must say her work is stunning! She made it looked like it was held outside of Indonesia, and thankfully the bride and groom were very happy with the decoration. As for me, I helped singing in the wedding, even though only one song, because I didn't really have the time to practise. Infact, that one song that I sang, I practised it with the musician before the wedding!

Oh btw, for those of who are also stunned by mom's work, and would like her to do your event's decoration, just contact her at sally.toli@gmail.com or you can comment in this post ^-^

    4. Christmas & New Year's - Well as usual, on Christmas and New Year's we went to church, and just spent most of the time as a family. I just love those quality times. Forever my treasure :)

    5. American Culture Week - WHOA! Finally this event is held! After months of preparation, it was finally held from Jan 9th - Jan 12th. I just hope that my staffs and my hard work paid off on the event, also the other committee's hard work. Bravo peoples!

    6. FLOOD!! - Unfortunately Jakarta went through some hard days just a few weeks ago where the rain had pour down real heavy and some places were isolated because of the flooding!

    7. In-Between-Exam-Getaway - So actually me and Ghea planned to go to Grand Indonesia to join the Trick Art Exhibition, but when we got there, the queue was……. SUPER LONG! There were about 200 people maybe. And we were sickened by it. So…. we decided to sit at Churreria and just had our occasional ridiculous talks there. And after that we went to Funworld to do the photo box.

    Say Hello!

This year, I was trusted to be the Manager of Language Department at BSSC. It was a big challenge for me, since I was actually proposed two different positions at two different organisations but then I decided to take this offer because I feel like I have more capability in doing this. And so the recruitment process began and I end up having these amazing people around me as my staffs~

And today we had our first Hang Out Together, that is the monthly event of every department so that everyone can get to know each other more. And today we went to Pancious at Mal Taman Anggrek. Unfortunately not all of them can come, there were only Laura, Della, Vincent, Evi, Stefanie and Vionna. Fanuel, Karyn, Lia, and Giana couldn't join :(

    Youth Entrepreneurship Workshop

Finally, after a short preparation, Youth Entrepreneurship Workshop 2012 by AIESEC Official Expansion Binus was executed! At first the Organizing Committee (OC) were kind of scared that we won't be reaching our target of participants because our booth just opened on Monday, which means only THREE days before the event. But we were so optimistic that even only in two days our target was already fulfilled. Infact, the number of people who were interested to come went over the limit! We, the OCs were very happy, proud, and relieved that the event went well. The participants were enthusiastic and the speakers were very inspiring. Our speakers were Rene Suhardono, Matthew Mendelsohn, and Tyovan Ari Widagdo. Our hard work definitely paid off on this event. And what makes it even better are the real good feedbacks that we got. Anyways, here are some pics~ :)

    I have a DREAM!

I have this dream of owning a cafe or a restaurant. I will surely make this dream come true.  Why cafe or restaurant? Because I myself have a really big interest in food and everything related to it.
Cafe? Restaurant? Imagine all these things...

    A vintage cafe

Earl Grey or English Breakfast Tea

Or maybe you'd prefer some cappuccino

    Rain drops

    Books

And pets that you can bring along

    Quality-chats

I want to create a place where people can get nearly all of those that I have mentioned above. I want people to have a place that they always go to just to enjoy those blissful moments, as much as I do. Well, here are some ideas that became my inspirations~

    holiday and the AEO~!

soooo. What did I do during my one-week-semester-break holiday? I became an LO for the Asian English Olympics hosted by Bina Nusantara English Club. It was such a great experience. Got to meet lots of people from different cities, with different personalities. Some are nice, some are very demanding. Some are very friendly, some very very bossy. But hey, it was all worth the lesson. Also got closer to the other members of the BSSC LO, which are Tasya, Ditha, Melcy, Ka Raesa, Ka Susanti, Brian, BK, Franz, Ko Cancan, and Ko Hanz. Also got the chance to spend some really fun times with everybody involved in this event, from the committees, LOs, and participants. It was definitely super fun!

I also went to my campus on Saturday to join the Java Jazz on the Move. There were 7 free fix given out, and I wasn't actually planning to get it, but guess what? I DID! HAHAHA. Thanks to Ka Cosmas for the help.

    what's up!

So, what's up peoples? I am finally back, after a few days not exactly writing a proper post. And so here I am to share some of the things I did and will do.

Well last saturday I had my very first practical exam. The exam was on Java Programming and if you're not really familiar with it, lemme tell you what it is. Java Programming is the coding (it's how we, or they, call it) in order to make programs (duuuh). But the one that I'm making right now is the very basic programming where we still run it on Command Prompt. You can do the coding with different tools, such as TextPad, Eclipse, NetBeans, etc. The one we're using is TextPad. Sooo, during the exam we have to make a program. My class specifically has to make this program for a fruit shop cashier, including a sign-in page in which the username is case sensitive. Also the password must be created from the name of the cashier added with the number of alphabets. And then inside there are 3 menu bla bla bla bla bla. Anywaaays, to make story short, I didn't finish the whole program coding. But then I created a 7MB file. Hopefully it's good. And hopefully I can optimize my grade on the theory exam, which is STARTING THIS FRIDAY! Hoo yeah!

Well enough about that, now I wanna share a lil bit about my trip to the the Russian Culture Center. I went there as a part of LnC's Hang-Out-Together, but this time plus Emil and Ka Susanti. My first impression was, the place looks like a private house. Indeed. Nevertheless, the maximized that private house and exhibit some Russian novels and magazines. Also some figurines wearing their traditional which I find very very cute. In the back of the building there's also an auditorium where they usually use it to watch movies together. Overall, my final impression of the Russian Culture Center was that, it felt Russian. LOL.

    Inside the library
    With the Curators (I guess)

Well, I guess that's it for now. OH! And to those who are celebrating it...
